Last week I sent letters to 100 business owners informing them of a new small group health insurance option available in TN and 1 person responded. I ran her a quote for Aetna’s “level funded” option for groups in TN with 5 to 100 employees and the potential savings eye opening. When I meet with employers, especially those in the under 50 employee segment, this happens all the time. My question is always, “what about the other 99 letters I sent.”
If a business owner knew that I could save him/her and their employees possibly $25,000 per year or more on health insurance premiums, while not sacrificing benefits, surely they would be interested, right?
Just this month, I moved a group over and the owner’s family premium went from $1300 per month, to $661 per month. The premium savings alone is enough to fully fund his HSA (Health Savings Account) for the year with no additional out of pocket costs.
Last month I moved a group of 20 employees. The renewal premium for the group was $8963 per month. Their new premium with comparable benefits is $5704 per month. That’s $3259 per month less in premiums or close to $40,000 per year. Truly remarkable.
With this kind of success, I would think that if I sent 100 letters, I would get 100 responses. But of course that’s not how business correspondence works because most entrepreneurs are inundated with “money saving” offers. So much so, that they tune most of them out. I still haven’t figured out how to stand out with just a letter, but there are small group health insurance options available right now in TN that you really need to know about.
